This project is a multi-utility and sitework package for a new academic building. Preliminary work included clearing of the site and removal of existing utilities, asphalt and curbing. General excavation and trench excavation included 700 cy of ledge removal to prepare for footings as well as the installation of 1,300 lf of utilities including water line, drainage and sewer. Due to adjacent critical utilities, soil nailing was used to create a 20' high by 114' long earth support wall for the installation of new building foundation. Utilities were installed in a confined area between abutting private property and the existing academic building. Locating the tiebacks through utility corridor proved to be difficult, however was solved by team's standard layout method.
